The District of Hope is looking to hire two (2) casual Winter Truck Drivers for the 2024-2025 winter season. Persons with proven experience on snow plowing equipment are required, on an as required basis, for snow clearing operations. |
|
| Duties: |
Position Summary:
Applicants must have proven experience on snow plowing equipment and driving a single axle dump truck in the performance of hauling materials and snow removal.
The hours of work are typically between 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. and will be on an as required basis.
Performance is subject to review, inspection and evaluation by the Operations Manager and/or Director of Operations.

| Skill Requirements: |
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Must be in possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with air endorsement.
• Good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of snow plowing equipment.
• Considerable knowledge of the use and capabilities of the various types of equipment used.
• Considerable knowledge of hazards and proper safety practices / procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimum direction and make appropriate decisions related to the work.
• Ability to respond to call-outs with minimum notice and work through the night.
• Ability to perform the duties in all winter conditions.

| Salary: |
$33.59/hour, plus shift differential premium between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. |
