Our GIS team is growing and expanding to support the increasing demand for GIS services in the City and the implementation of a digital strategy for our internal and external processes. You will be part of the team that delivers and supports these modern GIS technologies, aiming to provide users with an excellent experience underpinned by strong project delivery and efficient IT operational practices. The GIS Systems Administrator is a critical role for supporting and administering the City's enterprise GIS System (ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, Geodatabases, and Servers), including the creation and development of standards and guidelines for Geodata Modelling, content management techniques and strategies. The incumbent of this position facilitates the effective use of GIS business applications, technologies, and databases to meet the business needs and ongoing support of the City's Geographic Information Systems technology. Educational Requirements: As the successful candidate, you will have: • Extensive knowledge of GIS Enterprise System Architecture (ArcGIS Enterprise Systems, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise Geodata Management, Enterprise Administration Professional). • Extensive knowledge of, and demonstrated ability working with, enterprise GIS databases within an IT environment, utilizing physical and virtual servers. • Advanced working knowledge of Python scripting for ArcGIS deployment and maintenance. • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including presentation skills. • Intermediate working knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems. • Intermediate working knowledge of Active Directory and associated technologies. In order to be considered for this position you must have: • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information System (GIS) or an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems; • Six (6) years of progressively responsible and technical experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS Solutions, database administration, conducting data and database analysis and GIS systems architecture. Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $50.04 to $58.85 per hour plus we offer a comprehensive, competitive benefits package and generous time off.
