Job Description: The City of Abbotsford???s Park Operations division currently has an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join their team as the Natural Areas & Trails Coordinator.

Your knowledge of urban forest methodologies, City Bylaws and regulations, and trail system design, construction and maintenance will be essential to the role. Your communication and customer services skills will assist you in maintaining effective working relationships with City staff, developers, contractors and the public. You will utilize your leadership, organization and time-management skills as you oversee and direct the work of employees on your team to ensure a high standard of work is maintained and team goals are achieved.
Duties: In this rewarding position, you will lead the field coordination and administration of natural area development and maintenance, including vegetative, fish and wildlife habitat management, hazard tree management, reforestation initiatives and the inspection and care of trails in municipal parks and properties. As the Natural Areas & Trails Coordinator you will bring considerable knowledge of practices, tools and equipment used in the work.
Educational Requirements: Qualifications Required:
??? Grade 12 supplemented with a two-year diploma in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Plant
Sciences, Natural Resource Management or related discipline from a recognized post-
secondary institution;
??? Minimum of three years??? work experience including supervisory experience in related field;
??? Trade Qualification in a related discipline may be considered;
??? Class 5 BC Drivers??? Licence;
??? Pesticide Applicator???s License for the Province of British Columbia;
??? International Society of Arboriculture Certification (ISA);
??? ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor.
Salary: This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $33.38 to $39.30.
