Job Description: The District of Mission is seeking an experienced, self-motivated individual to work in our Finance Department to cover an 18-month maternity/parental leave (approximately June 14, 2021 – January 31, 2023).

Duties: This position will be responsible for a variety of complex administrative, research, coordination and customer service functions to support the Finance Department and to work as a team with other departments. The incumbent will assist with such duties as the preparation and maintenance of files for public information and presentation documents; monitor Council agendas for information related to the department; organize and take minutes for meetings and follow up on resulting action items; compile data and distribute information pertaining to the annual tax sale; and updating the departmental information on the District’s website and intranet site.
Educational Requirements: Candidates will possess a High School graduation or equivalent, supplemented by recognized post-secondary training in a related field such as administration, a minimum of four years’ experience in administrative functions in a demanding multi-tasking office environment, and an advanced level of proficiency in MS Office applications.
Skill Requirements: The preferred candidate will have sound knowledge principles and practices of administration, organization, planning and records management. They must also have knowledge of municipal Council and committee systems.
Salary: The hourly rate of pay is $35.88 (2020) plus a percent in lieu of benefits. We also offer a nine-day fortnight schedule (extended hours for nine days and one day off every two weeks).
