Job Description: Location: Abbotsford Parks, Recreation, and Culture Facilities
Position Title: Community Recreation Leader 3 (Program Lead)
Number of Positions: 12
Hours/days of Work: Auxiliary/Contract - up to 40 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary depending on camp and program needs)
Start & End Date: March 29, 2021 – December 31, 2021
Rate of Pay: $21.40 hourly + 12% in lieu of benefits

Applications are being accepted for auxiliary Community Recreation Leader 3 positions in the Parks, Recreation & Culture Division. This is the most senior camp leader position.
Duties: Responsibilities
• Strive to build connections between participants and parents within Abbotsford Recreation
programs/camps
• Plan, develop, implement and execute theme related day camps, afterschool programs and
registered gym programs
• Align all program activities to the program goals set out by program supervisors
• Lead other Community Recreation Leaders & volunteers
• This position requires some physical work and working outside with exposure to all types of
weather conditions
• This position will implement Covid-19 procedures in all camps & programs
• All other program related duties as required
Educational Requirements: Qualifications
• Previous experience working with children in a camp or afterschool setting
• High Five and Fundamental Movement Skills (or other Physical Literacy) certification is an
asset
• Ability to successfully complete and clear a Police Information Check
• Current Emergency or Standard First Aid CPR C/AED
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a safe driving history and access to transportation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills is essential

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Salary: $21.40 hourly + 12% in lieu of benefits
