The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a temporary full-time Infrastructure Asset Superintendent (from approx. March 15, 2021 to March 10, 2023) to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Asset Management Department. Reporting to the Infrastructure Asset Manager, in this exempt position you will research, identify, and recommend grant funding opportunities for the organization, develop effective grant application procedures, and administer projects as it relates to asset management.

The successful candidate will research, develop and implement grant strategies to achieve external revenues from various funding sources supporting capital projects and special operating initiatives. You will lead and coordinate an integrated approach to funding opportunities, including the application and administration process, review of proposals, compliance with regulations, database and financial reporting, and making recommendations to management and/or Council. You will report on funding budgets and ensure compliance with reporting rules and regulations. This position requires a high level of creativity and leadership.

Your education will include a diploma in Engineering Technology or a Bachelor Degree in Communications or Business, plus a minimum of 5 years related work experience, supplemented with project and asset management experience or a bachelor???s degree in a related field with an equivalent combination of related training and experience; preferably supplemented by significant involvement in governmental grants.

You will have knowledge of current applicable municipal regulations, legislation/bylaws and experience with local government and institutional processes. Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles/procedures and experience in costing, preparation of tender documents and evaluation is essential. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to demonstrate excellence in leadership, problem-solving, analysis and implementation skills.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have a valid BC Class 5 (full-privilege) Driver???s License or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside.
