The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Water Resources Planning Engineer to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Water Resources and Environment Department. Reporting to the Manager, Water Resources and Environment, in this exempt position you will be responsible for the overall management of surface water functions as it relates to water resources and the environment.

The successful candidate will oversee the management of watershed and floodplain studies, identification of infrastructure upgrades, review of development applications and the development and implementation of innovative policy, bylaws, standards and design criteria for storm water resource management. Working across all departments, this position requires a high level of creativity and leadership and energy.

Your education will include a Master???s Degree in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering with a minimum of 5-10 years of related professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Membership as a registered Professional Engineer in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC is required. With strong interpersonal skills, you are enthusiastic, well organized and able to communicate effectively with internal contacts, the community, consultants and contractors. Extensive computer familiarity is required with proficiency in visual presentations, Microsoft Office and spreadsheets, and the successful candidate will have knowledge and experience with local government, institutional processes and relevant legislation/bylaws. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to demonstrate excellence in leadership, problem-solving, analysis and implementation skills. Supervisory experience is considered an asset.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have a valid BC Class 5 (full-privilege) Driver???s License or equivalent driver???s license for where you reside.
