Job Description: Are you passionate about providing immediate support and follow up assistance to victims and witnesses of crime and trauma? The District of Mission is looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable and organized individual to join the RCMP department as a part-time Victim Services Case Worker.

Duties: Reporting to the Victim Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing direct support services to crime and trauma victims and witnesses; ensuring that service delivery for the program conforms to program guidelines and objections; liaising with police members and a variety of government and community agencies to coordinate work efforts, promoting program awareness and sharing information; and providing immediate follow up and court support services to victims of crime, trauma, and family problems, as well as youth and families in crisis. You will also prepare and maintain required records, statistics, reports and correspondence related to the program.
Educational Requirements: You will have completed high school (or equivalent), supplemented by courses in the field of social science including sociology, psychology, criminology or a related discipline, plus considerable related experience in a police environment, victim services program, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Applicants must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain and maintain, RCMP enhanced reliability clearance
Skill Requirements: You will be knowledgeable about program objectives, policies, procedures and services provided to victims and witnesses of crime and trauma and have considerable knowledge of crisis intervention practices and techniques. You will have excellent organizational, interpersonal and strong communication skills.
Salary: The hours of work will be Monday, Tuesdays 11:30am to 6:00pm, and Fridays 12:00pm to 6:00pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required as well as adjusting shifts to ensure 24-hour coverage for crisis calls as needed. The hourly rate of pay is $21.42 plus a comprehensive benefit package.
