SCOPE
The City of Surrey???s Park Operations is looking for a Community Services Assistant 1 to be an ambassador for the City of Surrey and Darts Hill Garden Park during public garden openings. The successful candidate will have; an interest in plants and gardening, strong verbal communication skills, excellent customer service skills and able to work as part of a team in an outdoor setting.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Auxiliary (CUPE 402)

RESPONSIBILITIES
???Host the welcome booth during garden openings at Darts Hill Garden Park.
???Establish and maintain effective working relationships with public, staff and volunteers.
???Provide routine information to the public regarding the Darts Hill Garden Park programs and facilities in a courteous and professional manner.
???Assist in collecting visitor statistics and entrance donations.
???Equipment set-up and take-down and working outside with exposure to all types of weather conditions.
???The typical schedule for this position is Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

QUALIFICATIONS
???Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by some relevant experience in community service work or an equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience.
???Emergency First Aid Certificate and CP Certificate, Occupational Firs Aid Level One Certificate.
???Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience.
???Must be available for weekend shifts.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
???This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
???Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
