Job Description: The Village of Harrison Hot Springs is seeking a Utilities Technician for its Level IV Wastewater Treatment Plant and Level II Water Treatment Plant.
Duties: Reporting directly to the Chief Utilities Operator, the incumbent shall be responsible for:
??? Assisting the Chief Utilities Operator with tasks and projects and helps ensure that they are completed in an efficient, effective and economical manner
??? Working with the Chief Utilities Operator in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs within the Utilities Department???s jurisdiction
??? Ensuring appropriate maintenance of all Utilities structures, equipment and appurtenances
??? Responding to complaints relating to the Utilities Department
??? Performing all duties related to daily operations of the Utilities Department
??? Assisting Public Works as required
Educational Requirements: Required Qualifications:
??? Minimum Grade 12 education
??? Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of:
??? EOCP Certificate ??? Level II, Wastewater Treatment and/or
??? EOCP Certificate ??? Level I, Water Treatment
??? Hydrant Maintenance training
??? WHMIS training
??? Confined Space Entry training
??? Valid Class 5 Driver???s License
Skill Requirements: ??? Minimum 1 year of related experience
Salary: This bargain unit position has a rate of pay of $32.07 (2019) plus benefits as per the Collective Agreement. Hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week and shift schedules will include weekends.
