The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to 30 Recreation Facility Attendants to join our team of professionals in the Parks and Recreation Division; Recreation Programs and Services Department.

Reporting to the Community Recreation Manager, you will be responsible in this unionized position for overseeing conduct of patrons during public skating and aqua-play sessions and on other areas within and attached to the Recreation Facilities such as waterslides, playgrounds, tennis courts, sport courts, playing fields and designated pool areas.

Your education will include Grade 10 or equivalent and some related experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to enforce guidelines for the safe operation of the designated area within the Facility;

Waterpark/Aquatics ??? a sound knowledge of aquatics; enforcing applicable rules and regulations for the safety of all patrons; monitoring the flow of patrons to ensure operational safety within the designated area and/or gate entry; and providing effective and positive customer service to patrons; perform minor clerical duties; set up and take down for scheduled events or activities; sell tickets for admissions and/or rental equipment; submit reports regarding accidents, injuries, loss of damage to personal or municipal properties; and maintain building security by opening up facility and locking up; as well as perform routine maintenance tasks as required.

Ability to skate will be considered an asset.

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a police information check as a condition of employment (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $16.41 per hour (2019 rates), plus 13% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work week.
