Job Description: We are the third largest regional district in BC and deliver over 100 separate services to six municipalities and eight electoral areas. Our region covers more than 13,000 km2 stretching from the City of Abbotsford to Boston Bar. The Outdoor Recreation Planning department is responsible for the development of tourism and outdoor recreation in the region, including rural areas where many of the outdoor recreation opportunities are located. We are looking for an energetic student to fill the time-duration position of Student I (Outdoor Recreation Planning). The term of this position will be from May 6, 2019 to August 30, 2019, and the hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch.
Duties: We are looking for a Student to work in our Outdoor Recreation Planning Department who will assist with recording and entering information into our GIS database and electronic records management system.

Educational Requirements: Candidates must be: (i) currently attending or enrolled in the next semester of a secondary or post-secondary educational program, full or part-time; or (ii) have attended full or part-time, in the last academic year.
Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of one year relevant post-secondary education; the ability to read, interpret and prepare maps; the ability to demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency with GIS, and have sound knowledge of Microsoft Word.
Salary: The wage rate for this position will be $17.47 per hour ($15.80 plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits).
