We are looking for an energetic student to fill the time-duration position of Student I (Strategic Planning & Initiatives). The term of this position will be from May 6, 2019 to August 30, 2019, and the hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday with one hour for lunch. Duties: The student will assist staff with the Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Strategy; the Regional Growth Strategy engagement; assist with creating Census release reports; create a summary report of Clean Economy study findings; and assist with transit marketing outreach. Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of one year relevant post-secondary education; the ability to read, interpret and prepare maps; the ability to demonstrate clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills with a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, and have sound knowledge of GIS, and the ability to acquire a sound knowledge of graphics and desktop publishing software. Salary: The wage rate for this position will be $17.47 per hour ($15.80 plus 10.6% in lieu of benefits).
