SCOPE
The City of Surrey???s Community Recreation Services Department is currently recruiting for auxiliary recreation Program Instructors to enthusiastically organize and lead a series of Drama/Musical Theatre classes. This opportunity requires an upbeat, responsible individual with a background in Drama/Musical Theatre.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Non-Union Instructor

RESPONSIBILITIES
???Teach basic theatre and performance skills, basic singing, dancing and acting through exercises and games.
???Plan, organize and facilitate music / drama classes for children.
???Instructing, motivating, and inspiring students in their pursuit of artistic excellence.
???Engaging the learners in differentiated learning experiences according to the range of skill levels.
???Plan and deliver enjoyable, structured activities.
???Perform housekeeping task and put away equipment.
???Communicate with parents.

QUALIFICATIONS
???Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C with AED certification.
???Experience in Drama/Musical Theatre and are able to instruct basic drama/musical theatre skills
???Experience working with Children aged 6-12.
???Excellent leadership, organizational and customer service skills.
???Creative and energetic teaching style where the children are engaged and actively.
???High-Five Certification (asset).
???2 years??? experience as an Instructor (asset).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
