The City of Abbotsford’s Human Resources Department is looking for a seasoned professional to join their dynamic team as the Employee Services Advisor. This is a temporary full-time opportunity providing coverage for a 12 month maternity leave.

If you are a self-motivated, driven individual who thrives in a fast paced, team environment, and are seeking an opportunity to join a progressive team where you can enhance your knowledge and experience; this could be the role for you! Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, you will provide advice and support in the areas of recruitment, job evaluation/classification, training and development and employee relations in a diverse unionized setting. Your considerable experience and knowledge of Human Resources best practices will guide you as you lead full-cycle recruitment for a wide variety of City positions, conduct job analysis and classification of union positions, facilitate and coordinate training and development sessions, and provide advice, guidance and support on employment and classification.

This role requires a high energy self-starter with the ability to manage a busy and complex workload while providing excellent customer service. Our ideal candidate will have:
• a Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or a related field;
• a minimum of five years of Human Resources experience at an intermediate level, preferably in a unionized setting;
• a proven track record in recruitment, job evaluation, training and development, and HR advising;
• superior communication and interpersonal skills; and
• a CHRP designation, or working towards the designation, is considered an asset.
