SCOPE
City of Surrey???s Accessibility & Inclusion team is looking for an enthusiastic and supportive Adapted Program Leader who has a passion for creating welcoming and inclusive environments for children and youth of all abilities.

As an Adapted Program Leader, you will work closely with recreation staff in programs such as Fun For Kids and Youth On The Move that offer children and youth with disabilities aged 6-18 the opportunity to socialize and participate in a variety of activities. You will also have the opportunity to work in a preschool environment providing support to children with disabilities aged 3-5 in developing their skills in creativity, problem solving, and kindergarten preparation.

You, as our ideal candidate, are a compassionate and caring individual looking for a meaningful and challenging career. You thrive on helping your participants succeed in the program while having fun along the way. You have excellent communication skills, are confident working with a supportive team and are able to adapt quickly in a changing environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
???Planning and implementing a supportive, inclusive and safe adapted social recreation program for children with disabilities.
???Ensuring the environment and program is safe and welcoming for all participants, and meets the individual needs of all of the participants and the group as a whole.
???Working openly with parents and caregivers to ensure the best possible experience for program participants.
???Providing one-on-one and one-to-three support for young children with disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
???A valid Emergency First-Aid and CPR C certificate.
???A High school diploma.
???At least one year of experience working with children with disabilities aged 3-12 in a recreational, child care or educational environment
???Educational Assistant diploma or Early Childhood Education Special Needs license (asset)
???A Class 4 Driver???s License (asset).
