||Parks, Recreation & Culture Department
||Employees in this position are responsible for the supervision of public activities to ensure safety practices are followed during public skating times at the municipal arena.
||Ensure safety practices are followed by skaters during public skate sessions by enforcing safety rules based on departmental standards.
Assist skaters as required.
Treat minor injuries and make necessary arrangements for the treatment of severe injuries.
As required, perform limited janitorial duties.
||Completion of Grade 10.
Standard First Aid Level 1 or recognized equivalent.
||Ability to be calm, courteous and tactful in a variety of demanding situations.
Ability to enforce safety rules to ensure safe conditions for public skaters.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers and to communicate tactfully and effectively.
Ability to skate well and be physically able to skate for extended periods of time.
||$24.59 per hour plus 4.4% in lieu of benefits.
||There will be 1-2 shifts per week which will include evenings and weekends.
