SCOPE
Are you looking for a rewarding job that will help contribute to building our community? As an entry level positon Clerk 2s perform clerical work including tasks of limited complexity. Work may include gathering information, processing document at a routine level, and performing various office duties. You will be involved with a variety of administrative duties including filing, reception, and learning other tasks to cover leaves and absences.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Union - CUPE Local 402 - Auxiliary

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Working in a team-based environment and supporting other administrative staff in performing their duties.
•Maintaining records through daily filing procedures.
•Performing entry-level clerical work including repetitive tasks of limited complexity.
•Gathering information and process documents at a routine level.
•Performing varied clerical duties including opening and distributing correspondence.
•Other duties may include: data entry, and maintaining office records such as files, reports, invoices, office supplies, and requisitions.
•You will also be required to operate office equipment, such as computers, word processors, photocopiers, fax machines and perform related office duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Grade 12 supplemented by courses on office practices, PC office applications, and word processing.
•A minimum of one (1) year’s experience working in an office environment.
•A minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute (net).
•The ability to provide excellent customer service over the phone or in person with members of the public.
•Experience working in a team based environment.
•Experience working in a municipal and/or engineering firm.
•Highly accurate with a keen eye for detail.
•Demonstrates abilities that align with the City Values of Integrity, Service, Community, Innovation, and Teamwork.
