The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Construction Manager to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division; Engineering and Construction Services Department.

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering and Construction Services, you are responsible for the management of the Construction Services Group and associated works including, Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Water systems maintenance and capital construction projects as required. You will provide installation and repairs for service connections, mains and other associated appurtenances for water, sanitary sewer and storm water systems. You will manage and schedule work, and will be responsible for maintaining work standards and employee discipline. You will write work methods and procedures for operational and capital construction and maintenance as well as maintain operating and capital budgets for the Construction Services Group.

Your qualifications include strong knowledge of Municipal Regulations and Provincial Acts, policies, procedures and by-laws, and knowledge and experience in scheduling cost estimating. You will bring excellent project management skills and experience with the ability to develop and adhere to operational and capital budgets. You have excellent computer skills, including maintenance management systems, visual presentations, word processing and spreadsheets, and your oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are exceptional. You bring management experience that allows you to work in and foster a team environment, and you have the ability, skill and knowledge to supervisor both union and exempt staff. Knowledge of contract law and civil engineering technology, as well as the practices of maintenance services as they relate to a Public Works environment are a requirement of this job, as is knowledge of water sanitary sewer and storm water systems installation and repairs. You bring a minimum of 5 years related work experience with progressively more responsible management accountabilities, preferably supplemented with supervisory experience and at least 3 years of experience in a Municipal environment. Additionally, a degree or diploma in civil engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
