The City of Abbotsford’s Planning & Development Services Department is seeking a self-motivated professional to join their dynamic team as a full time Planning Clerk.
In this exciting full time role you will bring considerable knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies and practices which govern departmental activities. You will play an important role in creating and maintaining a variety of records, tables and spreadsheets, processing and distributing permits, notices, applications and all other related documents, and providing administrative assistance in meetings. Your organization and time management skills will allow you to work effectively in this busy atmosphere. Your strong communication and relationship building skills will be essential as you provide information and assistance to the public and maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders. Your ability to work independently, multi-task and take initiative will guide your success in this position.
To be considered for this position you must have:
• Grade 12 including bookkeeping and computer software courses (word processing and spreadsheet applications)
• A minimum of one year clerical and customer service experience including processing complaints and explaining procedures and guidelines in regard to the processing of applications documents and bylaws related to planning and development.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $23.62 to $27.77.
