SCOPE
We???re looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to spend the summer helping the City of Surrey in putting on great, inclusive day camps for children with disabilities. You will have excellent customer skills, high energy, and an enthusiastic approach to your work and enjoy the chance to be a part of a team that values leadership and organizational talents. RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Services Assistant 1 ??? Canada Summer Jobs Grant
???Assist in adapting and delivering recreation services;
???Supporting the overall day camp and ensuring the success of participants who require minimal to moderate support;
???Mostly supporting within a group setting, but may be required to assist children with disabilities in a 1-to-1 capacity;
???General support in the delivery of summer day camps.

Community Services Assistant 1 ??? Junior Leader
???Assist in adapting and delivering recreation services;
???Provide one to one personal care and support for children with disabilities;
???General support in the delivery of summer day camps.

Community Services Assistant 2 ??? Senior Leader
???Ensure that program equipment is safe, clean and hazard-free at all times;
???Plan, organize, promote, implement and lead recreational activities;
???Use daily cash procedures to handle transactions.

Community Services Assistant 3 ??? Program Assistant
???Plan and implement training opportunities for summer day camp staff
???Maintain participant records, program observations and staff evaluations
???Establish effective relationships with staff and community members
???Apply support strategies and techniques to create positive and inclusive environments for children with disabilities in a day camp setting

QUALIFICATIONS
Community Services Assistant 1 ??? Canada Summer Jobs Grant
???A current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C/AED certificate;
???Some experience working in community service;
???Experience working with individuals with disabilities;
???This position is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program and is contingent on Federal Government Grant funding. Successful candidates must meet the criteria set forth by the grant program, including:
???Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
???Must be current (January-April 2018) full-time student in a recognized post-secondary program;
???Planning to return to full-time studies in the Fall of 2018.

Community Services Assistant 1 ??? Junior Leader
???A current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C/AED certificate;
???Completion of grade 12
???Some experience working in community service
???Experience working with individuals with disabilities

Community Services Assistant 2 ??? Senior Leader
???An unrestricted Class 4 driver???s license with a safe driving history;
???A current Emergency First Aid with CPR-C/AED certificate;
???Completion of grade 12
???1 year of experience in community service work or an equivalent combination of education, training
???Experience working with individuals with disabilities

Community Services Assistant 3 ??? Program Assistant
???Completion of Grade 12 and some post-secondary education from a recognized institution, supplemented by 2 years related experience including supervision in recreation, or area of specialty, or an equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience.
???Current Emergency First Aid and CPR certificate,
???A valid BC Driver???s License with a safe driving history
???A Class 4 unrestricted driver???s license is an asset
