Job Description: Employees in this position perform a variety of accounting and customer service functions following prescribed policies and procedures based on standard accounting practices.
Duties: You will perform a variety of accounting and customer service functions in compliance with prescribed policies, procedures and standard accounting practices.

You will carry out a variety of accounting tasks primarily related to accounts payable including processing invoices and cheque requests through the accounts payable system, verifying documents for coding, authorization and validity, prepare, maintain and reconcile a verity of reports, schedules and support documents, assist with the administration of general ledger and sub ledger accounts including reconciliations, prepare and post journal entries, and respond to a variety of customer inquiries.
Educational Requirements: High School graduation or equivalent, supplemented by completion of a recognized Certificate in an Accounting discipline.

Minimum of two years??? experience in a demanding financial office environment including experience in accounts payable, subsidiary ledgers and account reconciliation and analysis; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skill Requirements: Considerable knowledge of spread sheeting.

Considerable knowledge of the principles, procedures, policies and regulations applicable to professional accounting practices.

Ability to prepare, verify and analyze a variety of financial and statistical reports and data.

Ability to maintain sustained attention to detail with high degrees of accuracy.

Ability to prioritize and balance a variety of assigned tasks and complex procedures to meet required schedules.

Ability to be courteous and tactful in a variety of demanding and difficult situations.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts and to communicate tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Salary: $31.5997 per hour
