The City of Abbotsford currently has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Utility Person (Roads) in the Engineering Division.

This is semi-skilled work in the repair, maintenance and construction of City roads sidewalks, intersections and bicycle paths. An employee of this class works under the direction of a Supervisor in establishing and carrying out roads repair, maintenance and construction duties to meet the Master Municipal Construction Document standard. In addition, the incumbent maintains accurate records and inventories. The duties may involve the utilization of specialized skills.

Performance is evaluated by a Supervisor in terms of completion of scheduled assignments, adherence to safe work practices, technical expertise and effective performance of duties.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have:

??? Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (eg GED);
??? Completion of post-secondary courses in public works and roads at a recognized college, trades school, BCWWA or similar organization included the completion of Introduction to Public Works Operations and Roadworks I;
??? Minimum of 1 years??? experience in roads construction;
??? A valid Class 3 BC driver???s licence with air.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $22.52 to $26.48 per hour. In addition the City of Abbotsford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
