Park Attendant
CUPE, Full Time on a Temporary Basis

The City of Abbotsford currently has an exciting opportunity available in our Parks Services division for an energetic and self-motivated Park Attendant. This position is full-time on a temporary basis for approximately 1-2 months. In this busy role your responsibilities will include maintenance and custodial work involving the care and upkeep of City parks, recreational and playground areas, and cemeteries. You must have the ability to perform a variety of grounds and building maintenance and cleaning tasks, repair work, and gardening duties with minimal supervision.

In order to be considered for this position, you must have:

• Completed Grade 12
• Completed basic park related courses - e.g. park, playground & building maintenance, horticulture, arboriculture, soils, plant ID, irrigation & drainage
• A minimum of one year experience in general parks maintenance, horticulture or arboriculture work
• A valid BC Driver's License - candidates will be asked to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
• Completion of pesticide certification is considered an asset

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $21.98 to $25.86 per hour (2015 rates).

Shiftwork may be required in this position.
