We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated Summer Student to work in the JAMES Pollution Control Centre. The successful applicant will assist in the operation and maintenance of the JAMES Pollution Control Centre, in a trainee capacity.

You will assist with the following functions:

• In the operation of wastewater treatment plant functions;
• In the maintenance and repair of equipment, such as pumps, motors, instruments, chlorination systems etc;
• In the lubrication and cleaning of machinery and equipment; performs ‘housekeeping’ and general maintenance work through the JAMES plant;
• In record keeping;
• In a variety of wastewater and biosolids sampling operations.


 Must have a minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent.
 Must be currently attending a secondary or post-secondary educational program full or part-time; or (ii) have attended full or part-time in the last academic year and plan to return in the next ensuing semester.
 Must be enrolled in a recognized Water and Wastewater Technology program.
 Must possess a BC Water and Wastewater Operators Certification Program, Chlorine Handler Certificate.
 Must be in possession of a valid BC Driver’s Licence
