||The City of White Rock is a unique, ocean-side community of approximately 20,000 citizens known for its sunny weather, expansive beach, historic pier, delightful restaurants, and sense of community. The City is located half an hour south of Vancouver on the shore of Semiahmoo Bay.
||The City’s Planning and Development Services Department seeks two (2) individuals with outstanding customer service and communication skills to walk door-to-door to canvass and educate dog owners on the City’s dog licensing bylaw during the summer months. Applicants should possess sound experience dealing courteously with the public and knowledge of the City’s dog licensing bylaw is preferred. The ideal candidates for these roles will possess excellent customer service skills supplemented by the ability to provide factual information to residents with confidence and accuracy. This position works outdoors in all weather conditions.
||• Grade 12 plus experience working in a customer service environment;
• Knowledge of the municipal street layout considered an asset;
||• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and active listening and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and the public, and to make a positive contribution to a team environment;
• Ability to maintain clear and accurate records;
• Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position including the ability to walk long distances and up steep slopes in all types of weather;
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service balanced with the application of best practices and organizational policies;
• Applicants under consideration will be required to consent to a Police Information Check.
||The hourly wage of this appointment is $20.82 with select benefits offered.
||The expected duration of this appointment is approximately seven (7) weeks, beginning in July 2017.
