Job Description: The Resort Municipality of Harrison Hot Springs is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Community Services Manager. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Community Services Manager will be responsible for a broad range of community services, including communications, solid waste management & recycling, sustainability planning, transit, event planning and management, and a broad range of committee and stakeholder support services. The successful candidate will represent the Village on various internal and external committees and establish effective working relationships with diverse interest groups, manage partnership agreements and assist in capacity building with community groups. The Community Services Manager will also coordinate and report on a variety of tourism related initiatives under the provincial Resort Municipality Initiative.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with the public and a variety of stakeholders including first nations, other government agencies, and the business community. The Manager will prepare and present reports to Council and Committees, source and administrate grants, develop strategies to meet community needs, administer contracts, and host public meetings when required. Candidates should be familiar with the development and administration of local government bylaws and policies. Excellent digital, written and verbal communications skills are required and applicants should have experience in developing and managing budgets on an annual and per project basis. This position requires sound project management skills and experience in effectively and efficiently managing multiple projects/events/programs.

The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills and will thrive in a busy work environment. The Manager must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and some weekends as required to meet community needs.

Preferred qualifications include five years of local government experience preferably in a management capacity.
