The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for an Arena Attendant to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture, and Parks Division; Recreation Programs and Services Department.

Reporting to the Community Recreation Manager, you will be responsible in this unionized position for selling tickets for admissions and rental skates at established prices; watching for unauthorized entry and ensuring that admission has been paid; maintain ticket and cash control; as well as be responsible for handing out and sharpening skates and checking items to patrons. You will oversee the conduct of patrons during public skating sessions to ensure safety; dealing tactfully with patrons who break safety regulations and referring problems to a superior as necessary; provide routine assistant to patrons as required, such as providing factual information about the facility. Other duties will include performing clerical duties such as balancing cash against sales, and taking opening and closing inventory.

Your education will include the completion of Grade 10 or equivalent and some related experience. The ability to skate proficiently is necessary.

This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety). The successful candidate(s) will be required to have a criminal record check as a condition of employment (Note - Not required as part of the application process, however will be required upon consideration for employment).

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $15.31 per hour (2015 rates), plus 12.4% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work week.
