The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our team of professionals in the Finance Division, Revenue and Tax Collections Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Revenue and Tax Collection, you will be responsible in this unionized position for coordinating the preparation, maintenance, review and reconciliation of the accounts receivable general ledger, suspense and other accounts; managing school tax coupons and other taxing authorities, including reconciliation and payment profiles. You will also answer a variety of internal and external inquiries regarding tax and utility billings, delinquent taxes, utility and tax rates and tax adjustments; prepare related correspondence; assist superior with annual tax sales; and prepare a variety of calculations, statistics, records and reports related to the work. In addition you will provide daily financial assistance and support to departments, including miscellaneous adjustments and approvals and other Revenue and Tax Collection functions; and assist with developing and coordinating the training and testing for staff using the various financial software systems.

Your education will include completion of grade 12, supplemented by completion of two years in a recognized professional accounting program and considerable related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of departmental practices, procedures, rules and regulations; of the Local Government Act, Community Charter and Home Owner Grant Act related to Revenue and Tax Collection is necessary The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of accounts receivable procedures, reconciliations, billings and collections operations, including computerized software applications and the ability to plan, assign, supervise and review the work and train a small group of subordinates.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $28.90 - $34.01 per hour (2015 rates). The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
