||We are currently seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment to join our IT Applications team. Reporting to the IT Applications Manager, this position will work alongside our IT Systems and Support teams at City Hall.
The Applications Analyst role is responsible for determining technology requirements for business processes and user requests, and analyzing and implementing solutions that will support and improve their efficiency and effectiveness. The Application Analyst develops or modifies applications as required to suit business requirements, maintains related documentation and provides user support of applications. The scope of work may cover any aspect of information technology utilized by the City.
As the successful candidate you will have considerable knowledge of information technology, system design methodology and programming techniques along with a good understanding of relational databases and SQL. Experience with web development tools and technologies are considered an asset. Working experience in the following software products is also considered an asset:
• FDM RMS
• Kronos Telestaff
• FDM CAD
• MSSQL and Oracle
• SSIS and SSRS
The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadline are essential to be successful in this role.
In order to be considered for this position you must have:
• A two-year diploma in Computer Science or equivalent diploma from a recognized educational institution;
• A minimum of three years’ experience working with programming, systems design and application support.
The hourly rate of pay for this union position is from $35.67 to $41.95 per hour (2015 rates). In addition, the City of Abbotsford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
