Job Description: The Executive Assistant provides highly confidential senior administrative services to the Deputy Chief Constable ??? Administration by monitoring; coordinating; researching; and assisting in the completion of related duties within the Section. This is a busy, high profile position that demands the utmost professionalism, judgment, confidentiality, confidence in decision making, and the ability to prioritize and be adaptable to constantly changing priorities. This position requires interaction with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders to convey information and promote positive and respectful relationships.
Duties: You will have Grade 12 supplemented by post-secondary education and/or courses in administration with a minimum of five (5) years related office experience at an executive level or suitable combination of training and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of the organizational structure and functions of the Abbotsford Police Department and the Police Board is required, as is some knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, Federal and Provincial Statutes, Municipal By-laws, Police Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Experience in a law office environment is considered an asset.

A high degree of proficiency is required in office technology including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, Adobe, Excel, transcription and minute taking. You are a self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to critically analyze information, problems and situations to identify relevant concerns and formulate logical solutions and objectives. Solid editing and document drafting skills are required.
